German industry in crisis, but investors see opportunities again

For years, Germany was a market many investors preferred to avoid. Its industrial engine has been sputtering, automakers have lost billions of dollar in market value, and the economy has stagnated. Yet some professional investors now see opportunity precisely because of that gloomy starting point. According to Pascal Spano, head of research at Bankhaus Metzler, parts of German industry have been punished so severely that they are becoming attractive again for long-term investors.
