Transfer Thursday: Vistra, LuxCMA, Servitia, Kaufhold

This week’s Luxembourg overview of transfers, appointments, promotions and other people news includes updates from Vistra, the Luxembourg Capital Markets Association, Intesa Sanpaolo Servitia and Kaufhold & Reveillaud.

Abdel Hmitti

Abdel Hmitti (photo) has left State Street New York to be appointed as managing director and global head of funds at Vistra in Luxembourg. He will report to William Douglas, Vistra’s chief commercial officer. The firm said the move “marks a significant milestone in Vistra’s growth journey”. 

In his new role, Hmitti will lead Vistra’s funds business, overseeing the teams responsible for commercial, relationship management, product development, and digital solutions. He will guide the strategic direction of the business unit, driving innovative product development and ensuring a best-in-class digital experience for Vistra’s clients.

Hmitti joins from State Street where since 2007, he held senior management roles in both the US and Europe and was most recently the head of private markets in EMEA. He focused primarily on middle and back office operations and relationship management in the Alternative Investment Services unit. Prior to State Street, he held management and leadership positions at Investors Bank & Trust.

Gabriel Bleser

Gabriel Bleser  has been appointed as partner at Luxembourg-based law firm Kaufhold & Reveillaud, Avocats. With 25 years’ professional experience, Bleser advises clients on matters relating to competition law. He also advises on employment law, administrative law, telecommunications law and data protection.

Marina Andrieu

Marina Andrieu has recently been appointed and authorised by the CSSF as a board member / independent director at Intesa Sanpaolo Servitia,  an IT support PFS subsidiary of Italian bank Intesa Sanpaolo in Luxembourg.

Lukasz Malecki

Lukasz Malecki of Alter Domus has been appointed as co-chair of the Accounting and Reporting sub-group of the Luxembourg Capital Markets Association, LuxCMA, He will work alongside Ana Heydarov of Deloitte Luxembourg.

Malecki takes up the role from Marketa Stranska of Apex, who is moving on to co-sponsor the LuxCMA Best Practice Working Group. Stranska also has been appointed to the LuxCMA Board, succeeding Rolf Casper of Altum Group.

Elisabeth Nève de Mévergnies 

Elisabeth Nève de Mévergnies has joined the ESG team of the asset management operations at Belgium’s Bank Nagelmackers in Brussels. She previously worked at Degroof Petercam as portfolio manager.

Nicole Verheyen

Nicole Verheyen, partner at Triple A Risk Finance Belgium, has been appointed as independent director and chair of the Group Audit and Risk Committee of The West of England Ship Owners Mutual Insurance Association (Luxembourg).
