Growing pains in Japan show signs of abating as the country navigates an aging population and shrinking workforce. Japan has managed to grow its workforce amid a declining birthrate. Aging management may present opportunities for companies to reinvent themselves under new leadership, and accelerate growth. Certain behavioral and governance practices are being reformed, creating a more investor-friendly market in Japan. We believe certain structural improvements within Japanese corporations should prompt investors to revisit their allocations to Japan equities.
