Wall Street’s earnings boom is less solid than it looks, says valuation expert

US corporate earnings are booming, but investment gains are making the surge look much stronger than the underlying businesses justify, according to University of Florida finance professor Baolian Wang. He expects stock-market valuations to keep falling as investors confront less sustainable profits.
