Hind El Gaidi, head of Luxembourg at ICG, has been appointed president of the Luxembourg Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (LPEA). Her election was confirmed during the association’s board meeting on 2 July, the LPEA announced.
She takes over from Claus Mansfeldt, chairman of Swancap, who held the LPEA presidency since 2019. Under his six year leadership, the association expanded its international outreach and helped strengthen Luxembourg’s position as a hub for private markets.
A long-standing member of the LPEA, El Gaidi has served on both its board and executive committee. Before joining ICG, a global alternative asset manager, she worked at Astorg in Luxembourg and in deals advisory practice at PwC, with postings in Amsterdam and Luxembourg.
Her academic background spans several European institutions. She holds an executive MBA from Groningen University, an MSc in financial management from Nyenrode University, and a bachelor’s degree in economics and international law from the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis.
“I am honoured to take on the role of president of the LPEA and to contribute to the continued development of Luxembourg’s private equity and venture capital ecosystem,” she said in a statement. “I look forward to working closely with the board, the executive committee, and our members to strengthen our industry’s voice and promote Luxembourg as a leading hub for alternative investments.”
Mansfeldt described her as “a highly competent professional with a proven drive and energy, which will serve her well in leading the governance of the Association during its next phase of development”.
LPEA CEO Stéphane Pesch said El Gaidi’s “deep industry expertise, strong proactivity and international perspective” would be key to steering the association’s future. “I look forward to a close collaboration with Hind and the new executive committee to drive our strategic ambitions forward,” he said.
As part of the annual renewal of its governing bodies, the LPEA board confirmed the election of four members to its executive committee. Laurent Capolaghi of EY saw his vice-presidency renewed. He is joined by Martine Kerschenmeyer of Advent International, Gautier Laurent of Cinven, and Gilles Dusemon of Arendt & Medernach.
The committee is composed of twelve members, including the president, two vice-presidents, a secretary, a treasurer, the LPEA chief executive, and other board-elected members. Founded to represent Luxembourg’s private equity and venture capital sector, the LPEA had 636 members as of 1 July 2025.
